KIRK ASIA has successfully completed their second Biogas project in the Indonesia region for the POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent) market.
The end user, KLK Group, a public listed company working in the plantation and oleo-chemical business, is the third largest producer of palm oil in Malaysia, Working with project developer Oiltek Nova Bioenergy, a well known POME Biogas process designer in the region, BIODOME ASIA designed, supplied and installed a total of three Anaerobic Digestion Tanks complete with the industry-leading BIODOME® Double Membrane Roof. The project also consisted of a smaller digestion tank with an externally supported roof.
The AD Tanks where manufactured from Glass-Fused-To-Steel, a tank finish that has been in use for decades, providing an excellent service and design life with the minimum of maintenance. Choosing a GFS tank solution resulted in quick installation times, thus reducing the operational costs of the project.
At the plant, the POME produced from the milling process will now be treated via Anaerobic Digestion and a total of 2MW clean energy will be generated. This will be a significant contribution towards the Indonesian government renewable energy targets, whilst providing clean energy to neighbouring areas on the archipelago nation.
